AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) -- Family and friends hold a vigil for 21-year old Brandon Grubbs.

Two days after deputies say Grubbs was found dead in the home he lived in, his mom and sister are having a difficult time talking about him in the past tense.

"He was just too young he had his whole life ahead of him," his mother Cathy Williams says.

The vigil was held Friday evening at the Augusta Riverwalk. "He was an awesome son. He didn't get in trouble. He'd help anybody he can. He didn't deserve this," Williams says.

Brandon and his sister Kristen Mcguyton had a close bond, "He lived with me. We lived together he was like my best friend."

As of Friday night, the family says they still know very little about what happened inside that house. "We're heartbroken and we just want to know who did this," Kristen says.

The family is raising funds for Brandon's funeral. You can email Greg at heliflyer5@gmail.com to found out how to donate or you can send donations to Arlington Burial and Cremation in Augusta.
