NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - Pack your suitcase and your gifts but leave the extra credit cards at home when you head to grandma's house this Christmas. We are On Your Side with how to keep the modern day Grinches from virtually mugging you.

- Unload your wallet. If you don't need a credit card then don't take it with you on your trip.
- Designate one card to use while you travel. It's easier to track spending and spot fraud.
- Make two copies of your card. Copy the front and back of your credit card and give a copy to a trusted friend. If something happens then you have access to your account number and the number of the credit card company.
-Take advantage of text alerts. Many credit card companies and banks will send you a warning if they spot something suspicious on your account.
-Keep your card with you at all times.
-Watch your account after returning home from holidays.
