UPDATE | Two teens in hospital after hit by car in Bamberg

BAMBERG, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) -- South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating after two teens were hit along the 300 block of Hunters Chapel Road.

According to South Carolina Highway Patrol, the incident happened around 6 a.m. Wednesday. A 14-year-old female and 17-year-old male were walking in the roadway when 64-year-old Stanley Robinson struck them while driving a Chrysler sedan.

The female was transported to a Columbia hospital in serious condition, and the male was taken to Orangeburg Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

It is unclear at this time why they were walking in the roadway. The incident is still under investigation.
