UPDATE | 3 arrested in connection to deadly shooting on MLK Jr. Street in Thomson

THOMSON, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) -- The GBI and Thomson Police have arrested three individuals in connection to the deadly shooting on MLK Jr. Street Tuesday night.

Jason Yarbrough, 23, has been charged with murder accused in the death of Fila Climons. Wykeshia Stockton, 17, is accused of tampering with evidence and giving false statements and writings. Chirontavious Williams, 18, has been charged with tampering of evidence, according to the GBI.

The shooting happened around 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. A preliminary investigation revealed that a verbal altercation took place between Climons and Yarbrough which led to shots being fired.

The McDuffie County Coroner's Office has released the name of the victim in Tuesday night's shooting on MLK Jr. Street.

Fila Climons, 22, was taken to University Hospital-McDuffie where the coroner pronounced him dead.

Climons' body will be sent to the crime lab for autopsy.

THOMSON, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) -- A 22 year old man has died after a shooting near the 600 block of Martin Luther King Junior Street.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation said the shooting happened around 4:15 Tuesday afternoon near the McDuffie Achievement Center. The victim was taken to a hospital by a family member where he died around 5:30pm.

Thomson Police and the G.B.I. are both investigating.
The GBI has been interviewing witnesses, but there have been no arrests. Investigators say there is no threat to the public.

Details are very limited at this time. News 12 NBC 26 has a crew on the way.
