Aiken investigators looking for suspect in parking lot carjacking

AIKEN, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) -- Aiken Public Safety investigators are looking for a man in connection to a carjacking in the parking lot of the SRP Federal Credit Union on Richland Avenue.

Investigators say the incident happened Thursday night around 9:38 p.m., the victims told investigators that a white male approached their car, showing a gun and ordering them to get out of the car.

The man then fled the parking lot in the victims' vehicle, and it was found abandoned a short time later.

The unknown white male is described as being between 25 and 35 years old. He was last seen wearing a green “Carhartt-style” jacket, blue jeans and tennis shoes. The suspect was observed on surveillance footage wearing a light colored hat. The hat was soon recovered by a K-9 search unit.
